Video works of the irational.org group
---------------------------------------
Video works represent a significant part of the work of the irational group. As part of the screening at the Museum of Contemporary Art, the audience will be able to get acquainted with the different approaches of this group to video media: from short and explosive works that take over and creatively "execute" corporate commercials, to no less ironic and entertaining video works. provocative content. The following is a description of several works that will be shown, among several others:

IRRATIONAL PROMOTIONAL VIDEO, 1998, Danijel Garcia Anduhar / Technologies to the People (including 3 more works with a similar approach)
The recorded material of the suspension bridge rocking with the car on it is accompanied by a guitar riff of heavy metal music. Suddenly we see the driver turning off the music, the music stops as he swings on the bridge, and birds are heard singing. Everything is calm. The man looks at the camera and says "I'm sorry" with a funny smile on his face. The video is a wise way to advertise, an accurate illustration of the way it irrationally shakes our mental and physical infrastructures with a delicate balance between danger and humor. The video was originally used by a technology-related corporation.

TOWARDS DEATH - EXERCISE FOR CULTURAL WORKERS, 2006. 7'30 ", Rachel Baker
Recorded for an exhibition called "The Beautiful World of irational.org" in Dortmund, the video brings the theme of Rachel Baker's work "The Art of Work" from 1999. Using footage and a back-shooting technique, the video shows excerpts from Cindy Crawford’s aerobic exercise footage with footage of irrational members and curators performing the same exercises and movements in the Rura post-industrial landscape in the background. The filming took place in August 2006. shortly before the exhibition in Dortmund opened. Thanks to dozens of interludes inspired by sources such as Paolo Virno (Grammar of the Many), the aerobics exercises of the American model and its imitators have been transformed into a "short meditation on work, play, and exercise" (Baker). In detail, Virn’s theses on the growing blurring of the boundaries between work and non-work today are graphically illustrated in a variety of ways that clearly reveal the ways of behaving and working required of a workforce, insecure in the post industry.
