"Wealth of Nations" is part of the "Cinema City" festival, which consists of an exhibition and a conference. The term Wealth of Nations is the name of the capital work of the Scottish economist Adam Smith in which he lays down and defends the foundations of liberal economic policy. The liberal economy culminated in the 1990s after the failure of the concept of real socialism and the establishment of a global free market. In recent months, such an economy has entered a period of serious crisis, which in the short or long term may affect the stability of social orders around the planet. This year's theme "Wealth of Nations" explores the effects of the economy and the financial sector on society and consequently on the field of cultural production.

Finance and monetary policy are mostly exclusively part of the interest of a narrow circle of devotees. Even the social sciences in a broader sense have avoided exploring the relationship between finance and other aspects of social practice, however, with the more serious development of the financial crisis, questions have emerged that go beyond the narrow sector
of economics and finance. With the experience of the Great Depression in the 1930s and her.
implications of the outbreak of World War II, many are anxiously looking to further develop the current state of the global crisis of capitalism. The development of the so-called critique of finance tries to explore other models of economics and relations that bypass the so-called monetary ideology and practice as the dominant form of economic translation in the context of symbolic exchange.

The phrase "Wealth of Nations" (Adam Smith) on the one hand ironically thematizes the current state of the liberal economy in crisis, and on the other raises the serious question of what really constitutes value? Are social relations, beliefs, and fears in conjunction with stock market indices? How much money is nature and how much is culture? Do you
is money the equivalent of goods, labor, or is it self-referential? Participants and speakers including economists, sociologists, artists, activists, philosophers, and cultural theorists at the conference, will try to answer these questions and
develop a broader debate on finance as a social practice and its broader implications in the field of the rational and the irrational.
