PUBLIC INVITATION for participation in a creative workshop - SCHOOL OF IMAGINATION
March 29 - April 1, 2010, Museum of Contemporary Art of Vojvodina, Dunavska 37, Novi Sad; organization: Centar_kuda.org
The workshop takes place as an integral part of the multimedia exhibition "Individual Utopia" by the artist Lala Raščić, which will be set from 02. - 11.04.2010. years in the Museum of Contemporary Art of Vojvodina. A performance performed by Lala Raščić will be realized at the opening. The exhibition "Individual Utopias" was created in 2008 and consists of drawings, a series of clay reliefs, and several video works.
During the workshop SCHOOL OF IMAGINATION, participants will talk about contemporary art under the guidance of Lala Raščić, after which they will be invited to design their own mini-exhibition on the topic of UTOPIA. The results of the workshop will be presented as an integral part of the exhibition "Individual Utopias". Participants can express themselves by writing, designing a stage performance, or art techniques. No previous knowledge of these techniques is required. It is desirable that participants attend a workshop with an open and curious mind.
The workshop will take place in the afternoon for 3 days in a row, for 2 hours (March 29 - April 1, 2010). The number of participants is limited to 10 participants, there is no age limit. Participation in the workshop is free.
We encourage applications from pensioners, high school students, students, the unemployed, employed professionals - our goal is to gather as diverse a group of individuals as possible ready for independent creative work and active cooperation with the group and the leader.
The workshop is led by artist Lala Raščić (Sarajevo / Zagreb). She started her artistic activity in 2000. She has participated in several professional stays abroad, including in Amsterdam, Istanbul, Paris, New York, Edinburgh, and Vienna. She has won several awards from various media fields. The exhibition "Individual Utopias Now" and the workshop SCHOOL OF IMAGINATION take place within the project "Individual Utopias Now and Then" http://www.pro.ba/utopije/ realized by three organizations from the region: Center for Contemporary Art Sarajevo pro.ba) http://www.pro.ba/, Sarajevo, Institute for Contemporary Art Tirana (TICA), www.tica-albania.org and Center for New Media_kuda.org, Novi Sad, www.kuda.org. The exhibition and workshop were already realized in Mostar in 2009, and after Novi Sad, it will be realized in Tirana as well.
