Review of engaged films by Želimir Žilnik and promotion of book and DVD edition, KC GRAD, Belgrade

The review of engaged films by Zelimir Zilnik will be held on October 3rd, 4th, and 5th at the Cultural Center "Grad". On the last day, the publication For an Idea - Against the Situation, Analysis and Systematization of Zelimir Zilnik's Artistic Creativity will be promoted at the same place.

 

On Saturday, October 3rd, at 8 pm, 4 films from his earliest creative phase will be shown: "The Unemployed," "Black Film," "Early Works" (for which he won the "Golden Bear" award at the Berlin Festival in 1969) and " June Turmoils. ”

 

The next day (Sunday, October 4th) at 6:30 pm, the films "Oldtimer" and "Tito Among the Serbs for the Second Time " will be shown, while the audience will be able to watch the films "Throwing off the Yolks of Bondage" and "Fortress Europe" from 9 pm. ”

 

On Monday, October 5, from 7 pm, the promotion of the publication "For an Idea - Against the Status Quo, Analysis and Systematization of Zelimir Zilnik's Artistic Practice" will be held. In addition to Želimir Žilnik, Branka Ćurčić (editor of the edition and author of the essay), Sarita Matijević (publisher and member of the editorial board) and Branko Dimitrijević (author of the essay) will also take part in it.

The program will close with a screening of the film "Pretty Women Walking Through the City" which will begin the same day at 9 p.m.

After the screenings, the author will be available to answer all the questions of the audience.

The program will be opened by Mladen Djordjevic, director of the award-winning provocative films "Made in Serbia" and "The Life and Death of a Porno Gang".

Admission to all screenings is free.
